My BIL Destroyed Our House While We Were on Vacation – Karma Got Him Before We Could Confront Him

**A Chaotic Return**

Returning home after a week-long vacation, I was met with chaos. The front door was ajar, and trash littered the porch. My husband, Ethan, and I had entrusted his reckless brother, Stan, to care for our home, but now it was unrecognizable. As we stepped inside, the smell of stale beer and burnt food hit us. Furniture was overturned, and the walls were smeared with food.

“What the hell?” Ethan exclaimed, moving deeper into the mess. I grabbed my phone, desperate to reach Stan, but his voicemail greeted me instead. Panic set in as I called Ethan’s mother, Celeste.

“Stan’s unavailable,” she said calmly, explaining that after a party, he’d forgotten to turn off the gas, causing a small explosion. “He’s been demoted to truck driver,” she added, and as she continued, she revealed that the house Stan was supposed to inherit was now ours.

In shock, I shared the news with Ethan. “Karma, I guess,” I said, realizing despite the wreckage, we were somehow better off.
