My Brother-in-Law Belittled My Husband for Being a Teacher — Days Later, Karma Brought Him Down to Earth

At our family reunion, Tom, my successful brother-in-law, belittled my husband David, a dedicated teacher, with his usual arrogance. Tom flaunted his Ferrari and sneered at David’s career, claiming teaching would never earn him luxury.

His wife, Lisa, added fuel to the fire, belittling David’s “mediocre” job, while David, ever the calm soul, simply responded, “I love what I do.”

Days later, karma came knocking. Tom’s prized Ferrari broke down on his way to a big meeting. Stranded without his wallet and a nearly dead phone, he was forced to take a crowded bus.

There, he encountered David, who calmly invited him to sit. The humiliation escalated when the bus hit a pothole, sending Tom sprawling into an elderly woman’s lap. If that wasn’t enough, he missed his meeting, lost an important client, and was demoted at work.

At the next family gathering, a much humbler Tom apologized to David. “I’ve realized that success isn’t about wealth,” he said. “It’s about making a difference.” David smiled. “Thank you, Tom.”
