My Husband Demanded I Save up While Pregnant Because I Won’t Be Able to Work When Our Baby Arrives

Regina, six months pregnant and juggling work and cravings, anticipated support from her husband, Dan. Instead, she received a piggy bank and a note telling her to “SAVE UP” for maternity leave. Confused, she confronted Dan, who insisted, “We’ve always split everything 50/50. Why should that change just because you’re having a baby?”

Regina was taken aback. “You do realize I’ll be recovering from pushing a tiny human out of my body, right?” Dan remained unmoved, prompting Regina to track every pregnancy expense meticulously.

Weeks later, she presented Dan with an invoice listing their pregnancy costs. His shock at the total made him realize his error. “I didn’t mean…” he stammered, but Regina reminded him, “We split everything down the middle.”

Eventually, Dan apologized for his insensitivity and promised to support her fully. They celebrated by smashing the piggy bank together, signifying that in marriage, it’s not about keeping score; it’s about being a team. Regina’s response to Dan’s misunderstanding taught them both a valuable lesson in partnership during this new chapter of their lives.
